Arsenal face competition for Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka, AC Milan look at Republic of Ireland international Troy Parrott, while Brighton look to secure German international Said el Mala, plus more.
Arteta’s side are 16 games from the quadruple, helped by the forward’s devastating strike in this last-16 second leg And now I am become Springtime Eze, destroyer of netting. At what point does a shot at goal become a health and safety violation? There were 36 minutes gone at the Emirates Stadium when Eberechi Eze did the thing. How to describe the physical movements that generated Arsenal’s opening goal in this 2-0 defeat of Bayer Leverkusen? The shotgun pirouette. The swivel‑batter. The cage‑ball roundhouse. It was also a pianoforte kind of goal, the power in the finish preceded by a lovely,

Arsenal into the Champions League quarter finals as Chelsea and Man City miss out.
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior says his players have "had no break" but insists that isn't an excuse as his side were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain, with the defending champions winning the second leg of their last 16 tie 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, going through 8-2 on aggregate.
The mood already appears to be turning against the earnest coach with the fashionable glasses and box-fresh trainers The temptation is always to make excuses for Chelsea. They have a young and inexperienced side. They have lots of injuries. They’ve accidentally appointed a smart young entrepreneur as head coach. They actually played pretty well for part of the first leg. And then you remember they’ve spent £1.5bn to get to this point – and that from a position of strength an inquiry has concluded they achieved by illicit means. The Premier League may have been lenient in its judgment , but
Watford inflicted Wrexham’s first league defeat of the year with a 3-1 victory to maintain their Championship playoff push. Goals from Marc Bola and Edo Kayembe did the damage for the Hornets and, although Max Cleworth pulled a goal back, Edoardo Bove scored his first Watford goal in stoppage time. The hosts made four changes from their defeat at Stoke, with Mattie Pollock, Luca Kjerrumgaard, Nestory Irankunda and Pierre Ekwah, for his full debut, coming in. Wrexham made one change from their Welsh derby victory against Swansea, with Ryan Longman replacing Issa Kaboré. Continue reading...
Morocco declared 3-0 winners after appeal is upheld Senegal’s players walked off pitch over penalty call Morocco have been awarded a 3-0 victory in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations final after Senegal were sensationally stripped of the title in an unprecedented ruling. The Confederation of African Football (Caf) announced on Tuesday evening that its appeal board had decided that Senegal are “declared to have forfeited the final” that was held in Rabat in January after head coach, Pape Thiaw, and some of his players left the pitch for 15 minutes in protest at Morocco being awarded a penalty.
Bodo/Glimt's dream run in this season's Champions League may be over, but they bow out with their heads held high after making history.
Chelsea huddled once and, as if in an act of resistance, huddled again. They gathered once on either side of the centre circle before kick-off, apparently unconcerned by the kerfuffle that followed their weekend antics, and it was the biggest fight they put up on a night that underlined their distance from Europe’s elite. Can anyone say, with hand on heart, that this project is going well? Any sense they could overturn a three-goal disadvantage was nipped in the bud by two quick Paris Saint-Germain goals and, by the time Senny Mayulu had added the third, there was little mistaking how some of
